About the Event

"Meteorites: Why Space Rocks Rock!"

Wilton Observatory is excited to announce our first guest speaker! Dr. Paul Sipiera, President of the Planetary Studies Foundation, www.planets.org, will be presenting enthralling tales of his meteorite hunting adventures in Antarctica, exploring desolate landscapes with famous astronauts, what it means to be a planetary scientist and the basics of meteorites themselves! With decades of experience in decoding these extraterrestrial messengers, he is a walking wealth of knowledge and we are excited and humbled by his offer to share his knowledge with us!

Dr. Sipiera will be offering a presentation followed by Q&A and for those who want to get hands-on, a selection of meteorites will be available to hold and interact with! Everyone is invited and admission is free! Entry will be through the Central Office entryway and then take a right into the Media Center! The presentation starts promptly at 1:00pm.

Come join us as we explore the exciting world of meteorites and meteorite hunting! And yes, meteorites will be available for purchase!
